Raw Feeding

As you may have gathered, my dogs and cats eat a raw diet. If you are unfamiliar with raw feeding, you can find some good basics at my coworker's blog, specifically this page. My cats are typically fed ground meat for my convenience, but I do like to give them the occasional parts and pieces to keep their teeth clean. Most people say they have a hard time getting cats to eat whole parts, but I guess I'm lucky. I've never had a problem with it. I can put a whole quail down for my older cat, but I cut one up for the kitten.

Sairi the Siamese made a brief appearance, and I was lucky enough to get a picture. She is not fond of being recorded or photographed.

  1. I think raw is great. If I lived alone, I would feed it. Unfortunately, as a college student living at home I have other people feeding my dog, and raw wouldn't go over so well with them. I also don't have the time to dedicate to getting the portions and percentages right. But, I hope to feed it eventually! Animals always look like they're enjoying themselves when they're noshing on their raw meaties. :)

  2. I'm still on the fence, but the more I read about this the more likely I think I am to make the switch...

  3. I still make a raw food diet for one of my kitties, Mizzen. She won't eat anything else. (long story short, I was making it for another kitty, Dakota, who since passed, and Mizzen got hooked on it) I have fed Josie raw food at times also. Sometimes she loves it, sometimes she doesn't. But if I do know the benefits.
